School Counseling

My name is Whitney Morton. I am the school counselor at Steekee Elementary. I graduated from the University of Tennessee with my bachelor's degree in psychology in 2008. I graduated from Carson Newman College with my master's degree in counseling in 2008. I worked a few years as a therapist and then I received my license in school counseling in 2013. I have worked as a therapist, behavior interventionist, and school counselor in Knox, Monroe, and Blount County.

As the school counselor, my role is to be an advocate for students and help them achieve their goals. I work with students individually, in groups, and in classes during specials. I also work with the volunteers, the Read Aloud program, and the "Weekend Food 4 Kids" program. I can also refer students to outside counseling with Cherokee Health Systems and can help provide other services as needed.

I look forward to working with the Steekee staff, students, and parents. My schedule for the 2018-2019 school year is Monday through Wednesday 7:45-3:15. If I can be of any assistance to you, please contact me at 865-458-3322 ext. 5503. My email is mortonw@loudoncounty.org
