Good morning families,
It appears that our phone service is down at this time. This is a statewide issue occurring with the provider. We apologize for the inconvenience. Hopefully it will be resolved soon.

Happy birthday to Coach Adkins! She is a wonderful English teacher and prepares seniors for life after high school. In addition to her efforts in the classroom, she coaches a little bit of everything, such as cross country and tennis. Thank you for all you do for our students, and happy birthday Coach Adkins!

Game day tradition. Looking forward to a great game tonight and band competition tomorrow. Come out and support your Redskins!

Happy Birthday to Mrs. Sims! She is an integral part of our math department. She has a big heart for students and cares deeply for the community. We are thankful for her influence on the students and we wish her a happy birthday!

Big day for Loudon High Engineering! Mr. Heath’s Engineering program represented at UTK Engineering Day, and our students showed what Redskins can do!
Emma, Rob, and Logan took 1st place in BOTH Balsa Bridge competitions, with their bridge holding nearly twice the weight of the 2nd place team!
We’re proud of their hard work, innovation, and teamwork — the future of engineering is bright at LHS!

It was a great night for FAFSA assistance, Launch engagement, and open house! Thank you to everyone who came out this evening.

Open House will be Monday, October 20, from 3:30-6:00 at Loudon High School. In addition, there will be a Launch After Hours for families to visit with the Launch coordinators and program leaders. We hope to see our families Monday afternoon!

Students from International Club, Key Club and Talent Search along with Loudon County Transition Academy attended Appalachia Session Lives at Roane State learning about careers, Appalachian history, Roane State, financial aid, and drug prevention. They ended the day with a live concert with Chris Blue, winner of the voice, and other artists.

Need help completing the FAFSA? Our counselors will be available October 20th from 3:30-6:00 to assist families in completing the FAFSA.

On Friday, October 17 prior to kickoff of the football game against Rhea County, we will be honoring the 50 Year Anniversary of the 1975 Loudon Redskins State Football Championship. Members of the team in attendance should meet in the area of the scoreboard at 6:30. We are excited to salute our Mighty Redskins of 1975!

We wish Mrs. Kim Shell a Happy Birthday! She's our reigning Staff Member of the Month, the first friendly greeting, and a major support to our staff and students. She is an essential part of our family, and we are fortunate to have her (even if she does root for the Georgia Bulldogs). Have a great birthday, Mrs. Kim!

Looking for picture retakes? They will be on Monday, October 20. Make sure you've had your picture to still make it for the yearbook.

Happy birthday Ms. Ridgell! She is an amazing educator who cares deeply for her students. She loves to see them learn something new and help them achieve their goals. We are grateful she is part of our school family! Happy birthday Ms. Ridgell!

Seniors,
Are you looking for additional graduation items? Head on over to Balfour to order. Also, just a reminder about the graduation fee that covers cap and gown and the diploma cover. Graduation is May 9, 2026 and will be here before you know it!

Congratulations to Avery Hagen for being selected as the Northwestern Mutual Player of the Week presented by Brandon Millard.
As a wingback, Avery is always assigned to the side where the most pressure comes from. She has a very physically demanding assignment, and she thrives at it. She loves contact and shutting down those offensive runs. It's impressive. Even when she gets banged up, she refuses to come out or even complain. She just goes to work. She's an awesome athlete who's all heart.

Happy birthday Ms. Brewster! She is remarkable at getting our students prepared to be involved citizens in our community. She is a highly effective Economics and Government teacher while also sponsoring Student Council. She supports students at school and at all their events. We are so thankful to have Ms. Brewster leading and mentoring our students. Happy birthday!

Happy Birthday Mrs. Magliula! Whether she is helping students, taking on additional responsibilities, or "boogying down" in the mornings, Mrs. Mags brings joy and energy every day. She is a math powerhouse and an important part of our school family. Happy Birthday Mrs. Magliula!

Families,
Tomorrow, Tuesday, September 30, the Seniors will be taking the official ACT retake on the computer here at Loudon High School and Juniors will be taking a practice test on paper. Juniors will need to bring their own calculator if they wish to use it on the practice test.
It is vital that Senior students update and turn off their computers completely to ensure their computers update. Students can go to TestNav on their computer, run the "App Check," and access the practice test to ensure it is working properly.
Please make sure that Senior and Junior students are at school by 7:45 a.m. and that the Seniors have their computers fully charged. Please have Senior students bring their computer chargers tomorrow too. Students will check in at the table in the main hall. Cell phones and smart watches will be prohibited and need to stay out of the building. Please refer to the images or act.org to the prohibited items for testing.
Once the Seniors and Juniors complete the ACT, they will be dismissed to go home for the day. If they remain at school, they will rotate through their schedule after lunch.
Sophomores and Freshmen will rotate through different study halls in the morning beginning at 8:15 a.m. This will be a great opportunity to get caught up on any missing work. After lunch, they will remain at school and will be going to their normal classes in a shortened period and will be dismissed as normal at 3:15 p.m.
There will be no launch tomorrow.
Thank you for your assistance for the September 30, Senior ACT. If you have any questions, please contact the high school at 865-458-4326. Thank you.

We also want to extend a Happy Birthday to Mr. Witt! He has been a great addition to the Redskin Family, taking on United States History. His favorite time period is the Colonial and American Revolution. He is doing a wonderful job, and we are so glad to have him with us. Happy Birthday to Mr. Witt!
