Thank you to Loudon Cty Sheriff's Dept. for responding quickly to the incident that was completely unrelated to any school activities or event. The situation DID NOT INVOLVE anyone/thing at school. All Scouts are safe.
Thank you to the staff and students for continuing normal activities and following procedures.
There are three Sheriff's vehicles outside Steekee School, with their lights on. We are all safe inside the school. We will keep you updated as we find out what is happening.
We are excited to welcome our new Pre-K class to Steekee. We love having more young Scouts in our building.
To make sure we keep them safe, though, we need to adjust our Morning drop off procedures. (Please note, this is only for morning drop off and does not apply to afternoon pick-up.)
Before 8:00 a.m., If you are dropping off children in Grades K-5, please enter the traffic pattern at the east end of the building, at the buses only entrance. This is to the left as you are facing the building, on the same side as the garage. If it is 8:00 a.m. or later, you will need to park and walk your child into the building to sign him/her in - in the office.
Pre-K parents will still enter the traffic pattern at the west (library) end of the building, proceed along the driveway that passes in front of the school, and stop at the Pre-K drop off area. You may remain in your vehicle. Pre-K staff will be available to help you sign your child in and assist him/her out of your vehicle.
Thank you for helping us keep all of our Scouts and their families safe!
